Berkshire Hathaway Stock Hits $200,000

Above: My daughter meeting Warren Buffet at the Annual Shareholder Meeting. She owns one share of the B stock.

One share of Berkshire Hathaway stock hit $200,000 for the first time today!

Berkshire Hathaway Class A stock is the most expensive stock in the U.S. This is what happens to a company that continues to increase earnings over time and never splits its stock. Owner, Founder, and CEO, Warren Buffett does not believe in stock splits.

A little history ala Yahoo Finance:

– The stock hit $1000 in 1983

–  $10,000 in 1992

– $100,000 in 2006

Even Warren got hit during the Great Recession of 2008-09 when the stock was cut in half from its high of $149,000 in 2007  to about $72,000 in 2009. Well, it’s back!

Anyone interested in owning a share of Berkshire Hathaway stock may find their Class B shares a little more affordable. They trade at 1/1500th of the Class A shares. Did you know you can buy one share of Berkshire Hathaway stock Class B shares at GiveAshare.com? Not only do they have Warren Buffett’s printed signature on them but the recipient gets four passes to the Annual Shareholder Meeting.

My daughter owns a share and went to the annual shareholder meeting a year ago and got to meet Warren Buffett – she was absolutely thrilled!
