Cancellation & Return Policy

General Info

GiveAshare.com is absolutely committed to satisfying customers.  If you are not satisfied in any way, please let us know.  The uniqueness and highly customized nature of our product influences our cancellation and return policy for two main reasons:

  1. Real Stock Registration – We work with other financial institutions to legally register the recipient as a shareholder of the company purchased. Once this legal process is started, it cannot be stopped.
  2. Reliance on Customer Provided Information for Customization – We rely on the information that you provide to legally register the share of stock, to engrave personalized plaques, and for shipping/billing. As a result, you the customer, have responsibility for this aspect of quality.

Carefully enter your order with correct names, spelling, and punctuation, particularly the shareholder and plaque engraving information. You can review your entries on the review page, the order confirmation page, the confirmation email, and the order status page. If you place a phone order, you are responsible for reviewing the confirmation email or order status page and communicating issues immediately.

Our cancellation and return policies and your ability to make changes and corrections are all dependent on the status of your order at the time you contact us. The goal is to contact us before the times below to maximize your options and save you money:

  • Plaque Engraving – Plaques are generally engraved within 1 business day from order date.
  • Share of Stock Registration – The legal stock registration process is generally started 2-7 business days from order date.
  • Shipping - Timing of shipment depends on what is ordered. Typical orders can ship as early as same day to 2 business days, while custom stock orders can take 3-9 weeks.

Note that cancellation and return policy terms apply to the purchaser and not the recipient of a gift.

Policies

Our cancellation policy is designed to maximize your refund but considers any costs we have incurred which is dependent on what you buy and when you change or cancel your order. Below is the approximate timing of when we incur costs. We will make this calculation at the time of the change/cancellation and will not charge you if we have not incurred the cost so call or email us ASAP.

Plaque Engraving

Once your plaque in engraved (~1 business day from order) we cannot refund the plaque price and we will have to charge for a new plaque ($10) if there are any changes.

Share of Stock Registration

Once we start the legal stock registration process (2-7 business days from order), it cannot be stopped so we cannot refund the share (and associated fee) portion of your order. Note: We can help the recipient work with the transfer agent to get a correction made or to transfer or sell the share.

Shipping

Once we ship your product (timing of shipment depends on what is ordered - typical orders can be shipped as early as same-day while custom share orders can take 3-9 weeks), your order cannot be canceled but see return policy below.

We will cancel and refund the amount due to your credit/debit card within 5 business days of receipt. Note that it can take your bank 3-5 business days to process.

It is important to inspect the product upon delivery.

If there are any issues, the first step is call or email us within 10 days of delivery to obtain Return Authorization.

Frames and Other Non-Share Items

  • Any non-share item (frames, acrylic, mats, plaques, kits, t-shirts, etc.) that has a manufacturing defect or is damaged during shipment can be returned for a full refund or replaced at no cost to you. Call or email us to get return instructions within 10 days of delivery.  Note that items damaged during shipment should be retained for 7 days after you contact us in case UPS/USPS wants to inspect.
  • Items that are not defective or damaged during shipment may be returned or exchanged subject to the following:
  • Return shipping will be at your cost.
    • For exchanges, shipping the new product will also be at your cost.
    • Items must be received back in “new condition”. Note that the acrylic, mat, and plaque portion (33%) of a frame cannot be refunded.
    • Contact us first to let us know you are returning product within 10 days of delivery.
    • Product should be returned within 30 days of delivery.

Registered Share of Stock

  • Because the stock registration process is irreversible, the registered stock certificate cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Registered stock certificates that are defective (note that blemishes or slight creases can be a normal result of the printing process), damaged in shipping, or registered incorrectly due to a GiveAshare.com or Transfer Agent error can be returned for correction at no cost to you. Call or email us to get return instructions within 10 days of delivery.
  • Stock certificates that are registered incorrectly due to information you provided cannot be returned or exchanged. Note: We can help the recipient work with the transfer agent to get a correction made or to transfer or sell the stock.

We will inspect and process your return and refund the amount due to your credit/debit card within 5 business days of receipt. Note that it can take your bank 3-5 business days to process.
